The name Jesus means “God saves”. We look for salvation in many things – money, relationships, accomplishments, etc.- only to be disappointed. There is only one place where we will find true salvations from our skewed world… his name is Jesus.

Every great movie and book needs a deliverer. Instinctively, within all of us, we understand that we cannot redeem ourselves.  We need help. This is why Jesus came.

He was chosen. He was chosen to redeem us from the darkness that threatens to overwhelm us. Jesus’ birth, life and death was not an accident… and neither are you. Jesus was chosen to save the world. Jesus chose to give his life for you.

The promise of God’s salvation is not found only in the pages of the New Testament. From the very beginning, when our world went awry, God had a plan.

We have seen God working in Ruth’s time to put events in place which would eventually result in the incarnation of the Son of God. Throughout human history, God has been working to fulfill his purposes in the world, although his working was not (and is not now) always obvious or easy to
