He conversed with Adam in the first garden. He told Noah to build an ark. He spoke to Moses in a burning bush. He promised Abraham a son. Paul heard His voice on the way to Damascus. But does God still speak to us today? If so, how? When? Where?
Prayer is a two-way conversation with God. While we often focus on talking to Him, listening in prayer is just as crucial. It allows us to hear His voice, understand His will, and grow deeper in our relationship with Him.
The great debate has now come to a close. But the participants have reached no agreement; the problem is still unsolved. Although Job has vindicated God’s trust in him, yet his mind is in turmoil. He is baffled still by God’s seeming silence; he is profoundly convinced still that God is unjust.
Two opening chapters of the book set the scene and describe the real reason for Job’s sufferings. This answer was never disclosed to Job. But it forms part of the total solution to the problem of suffering and the meaning of faith.
